My husband and I had lunch here yesterday and were really impressed. We just fancied a proper pub lunch so thought we’d give the Bull’s Head a try. Upon entry the barman was really friendly and we liked the feel of a ‘proper pub.’ We ordered a vegan burger, regular burger, onion rings and 2 ciders which came to £32 which we thought was great value. When the chef brought the food out he was friendly and chatty and made us feel welcome. The food was delicious and really generous portions. We also got chatting to a regular who let us stroke his beautiful staffy. All in all we had a great experience and will definitely be back!
Visited today and had a lovely home cooked chicken roast. The food was very tasty and a lot of it. You definitely get your money’s worth. I would highly recommend it and would advise to book in advance as they get full quite quickly. The staff are really friendly and helpful also
Originally went to reigate to go to cafe rouge - kitchen was closed due to no staff - found the bull down the road - very accommodating staff as fully booked (squeezed us in as long as we were gone by the reservation time ) had a delicious chicken roast - wow amazing - great food, great service and a lovely open fire kept us warm and cosy.
We will book next time to try the beef roast - top marks
Cozy pub with an beautiful open fire and really fresh crisp pints! Friendly bartender too. Recommend.
I've had the Sunday roast here many times, and have to say it's one of the best, not only are the plates generous, but it's all well cooked and very tasty! I have the nut roast, but the Chicken etc. are just as good. We live in Caterham, but always drive here especially for the roasts!
If your looking for a great pub with a friendly atmosphere and good food this is it! The staff are always friendly. There's seating indoors with a lovely open fire as well as covered seating outside that is segregated for smokers and non-smokers. Whether your passing through or a local, it's always worth popping in. Morissons provide free parking for 2 hours and the pub is a 2 min walk away.
Good food and service with a roaring open fire, very nice!
Went for a Sunday roast and was impressed with the quality of the food. Amazing value, staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Would be 5 stars if there was a children’s menu and a bit more choice of desserts, but would happily return.

Quick Facts About The Bull's Head

The Bull's Head pub, based on the provided comments, has several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. Firstly, the friendly and welcoming staff are consistently mentioned by customers. From the barman to the chef, customers appreciate the friendly and chatty atmosphere created by the staff. This not only enhances the overall dining experience but also makes customers feel valued and comfortable.
Another strength of the Bull's Head is its good value for money. Customers praise the generous portions and affordable prices, with one couple being pleasantly surprised that their order of a vegan burger, regular burger, onion rings, and 2 ciders only amounted to £32. This affordability, combined with the delicious food, adds to the value proposition of the pub and makes it an attractive option for customers.
The quality and taste of the food is consistently praised in the comments. Whether it is the home-cooked chicken roast, the Sunday roast with nut roast or chicken, or even the vegan burger, customers consistently mention that the food is tasty and well-cooked. This is further complemented by the generous portions, ensuring that customers feel satisfied and get their money's worth.
The ambiance of the pub also receives positive feedback. Many customers mention the cozy and welcoming atmosphere, often attributing it to the beautiful open fire. The presence of the fire adds to the overall warmth and comfort of the pub, making it an appealing choice for customers seeking a pleasant and relaxing experience.
Additionally, the Bull's Head receives praise for its cleanliness and fresh pints of beer. The fresh and crisp pints, combined with the friendly bartender, contribute to the overall positive impression customers have of the pub.
Despite these strengths, there are a few areas where the Bull's Head could improve. One customer suggests that the pub could benefit from having a children's menu to cater to families. This would allow the pub to attract a wider range of customers and make it a more family-friendly destination.
Another suggestion for improvement is to increase the dessert options. Currently, there is a limited choice of desserts available, which may be disappointing for customers who have a sweet tooth or prefer more variety in their dessert options. Increasing the dessert options would enhance the overall dining experience and provide customers with a greater range of choices.
In terms of availability, it is mentioned that the pub tends to get full quite quickly, particularly on busy days such as Sundays. This suggests that the Bull's Head could benefit from implementing a reservation system or encouraging customers to book in advance. This would help manage the demand and avoid disappointment for customers who are unable to secure a table.
Overall, the Bull's Head pub has several key strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. From the friendly and welcoming staff to the delicious and well-cooked food, customers consistently praise the pub for its excellent service and value for money. While there are a few areas for improvement, such as offering a children's menu and expanding the dessert choices, these do not significantly detract from the overall positive experience customers have at the Bull's Head.
